Pursuant to the decision by the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, mandating the standardization of the timing of the Censuses for the Council states and carrying out a unified Census in 2010, each country of the Council member states shall carry out a Census in 2010. However, afterwards the standardization of the general censuses shall be done so that they become decennial censuses and carried out in years ending in a zero.
