What is the population of the Sultanate? and what is the growth rate since the 1993 census?

  The total population was (2,340,815) 2003 census, i.e. an  increase of  approximately (323) thousand   (or 16%) compared with 1993 Census.
 
 

What is the percentage of the Expatriates from total population?

 

The 2003 census results revealed that expatriates constitute slightly less than (24%) of the total population, thus marking a tangible decrease relative to (10) years ago, where it was (26.5%).
 

 

What is the sex ratio (the number of males for each (100) females) in the Sultanate?

 

The male population exceeds the female population in the Sultanate by about (286) thousand. The sex ratio is about (128).
 

 

What is the total number of housing units in the Sultanate? and what is the growth rate since the 1993 census?

 

Total number of housing units in the Sultanate in 2003 was (430,996), which marks an increase of (86,150) housing units (or 25%) relative to their total number in the previous Census which was carried out in 1993.
 

  What is the total number of households in the Sultanate? and what is the growth rate since the 1993 census?
 

The total number of families in the Sultanate was (343,377), showing an increase of (56,629) (i.e. about (20%)) compared with 1993 Census data.
