The Supervisor is responsible for the technical, administrative and financial enumeration operations in a given administrative division in the Sultanate (or a section of it). His/her tasks are as follows:

  1. Conduct training to the crew-leaders and oversees the enumerators training courses within his area.
  2. Receive the assigned work tasks, equipment and items relevant to his team performance and delegate the same to the assistant Supervisors.
  3. Conduct a field tour to get acknowledged with his area of responsibility and get acquainted with its components.
  4. Implement the missions related with the enumeration process as described in the field work plan and in accordance with the stated time and instructions.
  5. Direct supervision of the performance of he assistant supervisors in his area of responsibility.
  6. Preparation of the periodic and final reports and submit them to the Census Director General in accordance with the formats, dates and directives specified in the Supervisor's Reports Book.
  7. Collecting the publications, equipment and other work materials from the Assistant Supervisors and deliver them to the concerned committees at the Central Administration as per the set procedures and directives.
  8. Approving the expenditure within the authorized limits delegated to him/her by the census financial system.

The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for the technical and administrative enumeration operations in a given Wilayat or more or a specific area of a Wilayat. His/her tasks are as follows:

  1. Conduct training to the enumerators and participates in training of crew-leaders.
  2. Receive his/her work tasks and items relevant to his/her zone, delegate the same to the crew-leaders and redeem it upon completion of the task.
  3. Conduct a field tour to get acknowledged with his/her area of responsibility and get acquainted with its components.
  4. Implement the missions related with the enumeration process as described in the field work plan and in accordance with the stated time and instructions.
  5. Supervise and monitor the Crew-leaders' work in his/her area of responsibility, examine specimen of their output.
  6. Prepare the periodic and final reports in accordance with the formats, dates and directives specified in his report's book, and submit them to the concerned supervisor.
  7. Implement the Information Programme assigned to him/her.
The Crew-leader is responsible for the enumeration operations in an area comprising a limited number of enumeration areas. His/her tasks are as follows:
  1. Participate in the enumerators training.
  2. Receive his/her work tasks and items assigned for him/her and the enumerators working in that area, show the enumerators their work areas, give them their items and redeem the same upon completion of the task.
  3. Conduct a field tour to get acknowledged with his area of responsibility and get acquainted with its components.
  4. Implement the missions assigned for him/her as described in the field work plan and in accordance with the stated time and instructions.
  5. Supervise and monitor the enumerators' work in his/her area of responsibility, examine specimen of the questionnaire of each of them.
  6. Prepare the periodic and final reports in accordance with the formats, dates and directives specified in his report's book, and submit them to the concerned assistant supervisor.
  7. Implement the Information Programme assigned to him/her.
The Enumerator is responsible for the data collection related to all housing units, households and persons within his/her area of responsibility. His/her tasks entail the following:
  1. Receiving his/her work tasks and items assigned for him/her from the crew-leader and hand them over upon completion of the task.
  2. Conduct the actual enumeration of population and housing during the assigned period and abide by the daily outputs, rules and instructions.
  3. Conduct a daily office review of the collected data.
  4. Filling in the report forms in the records book and submit them to the crew-leader within the stated period.
